Microsoft Word Review

Get App

Microsoft Word is an app for creating, editing, and viewing text documents. It was developed by Microsoft and is now available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

Interface 4/5

Word has a great interface on all platforms. Its features are separated in different tabs on the desktop and pop up when necessary on mobile.

The mobile edition is especially comfortable when editing documents as it has a less overloaded interface, which makes it easier to navigate through texts. The design is pretty attractive, but in a way that lets you focus on work.

Features 4/5

In terms of features, Word is one of the most powerful text editors available. You can change the document's layout, insert headings, change the view mode, insert links, or even different files, build graphs, and many more. The powerful search tool will make it very easy to find a specific part of the document, and the wide range of design customization tools will let you create any style you want.

There are also lots of exporting options: you can share your document through e-mail, save it locally on your device, store it in OneDrive or other cloud services, and more. Choosing OneDrive seems the most preferable option as the documents stored there will automatically update, meaning you will have full synchronization between PC and mobile if needed.

Usability 3/5

Usability is probably the only drawback of Word. While on PC, it is arguably the best text editor on mobile, there exist more comfortable alternatives. The interface seems still to be a bit too heavy on mobile, and on your smartphone, you don't usually need all the features the app offers.

Compatibility 4/5

The compatibility of Word is pretty high, as the app does not consume much power. You will only need Windows 10, Android 5.0, or higher or iOS 13.0 or later. The app is well-optimized and runs properly, even on budget devices.

Conclusion: PC Designed

It is important to understand that Word was initially designed for PC long ago. Its mobile versions might be less comfortable than other text editors on Android and iOS, but Word becomes great when you need to work both on PC and mobile. If you are looking for an app to work with documents on PC and have an option to edit them on the go, Word is definitely your choice.

App Highlights:

  • Profound editing tool;
  • Great optimization and compatibility;
  • Lots of sharing and exporting options.
